The interview with Scott highlighted the very points why the Libs are in the parlous state they find themselves. He stated that Trumps policies won't work here but didn't state what those policies were. Policies like stopping immigration, balancing the budget, cutting waste in government, eliminating woke agendas and pandering to left wing virtue victims are all policies that appeal to right of centre voters so maybe Scott could explain why that wouldn't work to attract the 100s of thousands of disaffected former supporters. It's so easy to blame Trump for everything and anything. The canary in the coalminers is the states. Name 1 state that isn't an absolute shitshow because they have lost the connection with the base supporters by following their own agendas, ignored centre right goals and pandered to left of centre causes like the Voice, being Laborlite at all times because they think they can sit on the fence and not take risks. The Qld Lnp only won because the Alp was sooo bad, not because Crusifooli was a good leader! If I remember correctly didn't Abbott win with one of the biggest margins in Lnp history, step back and look how that was done and that might be a start.
The litmus test. Will they drop negative gearing and the capital gains concessions? Forget social housing. Remember that an orchardist by the name of Thomas Playford could wire his own house prior to the days of licensing tradesmen, town planning and Australian Standards. Give people access to land. Remove the shackles, watch productivity take off.
Inconsistent conclusions here in my view. Labor is spending like drunken sailors leaving a big debt burden for future generations but the majority want the handouts now so Labor wins with all the cost of living goodies.
You can’t change the laws of physics. Wait for the power grid to go down during peak periods from a disproportionate reliance on renewable energy technologies dominating the system.
The migrant vote in the suburbs will soon desert the ALP then

Excellent forum Chris, delighted to discover.

Despite being a record victory, it’s a soft one.

Exactly.
