The entirety of the Southern Hemisphere, taken as a unit, has not suffered an increase in its average temperature in the month of January, close to the warmest month of the year, in three decades. Advocates for the illusion should put fact that in their pipes and smoke it.
Just in case you are wondering, the concentration of CO2 is the same in both hemispheres at about one molecule in 4000. Oxygen is at a concentration of about one molecule in five. Consider this from the point of view of a plant that must assimilate CO2 to make carbohydrate. The tiny increase in the concentration of CO2 is great from the point of view of a plant. Now, what are plants important for? Could humanity exist without plant life?
The facts are explosive, yet in Australia our green left still call for ‘real action on climate change’, by which they mean more of the same ruinous policies that have failed for a third of a century.
All that failure to limit CO2 emissions has led to, is a continuation of gentle warming, better plant growth from the CO2 fertilisation effect, and historic lows in deaths due to climate disasters. There has been a net benefit to lives (since cold kills more than heat) and the economic activity from fossil fuel use gives us all better jobs, better health care, better housing and better cooling and heating.
It is also striking that China gets much more renewable energy from nuclear and hydro than from intermittent, non-synchronous solar and wind. The rich world is unique, not in its obsession with ‘renewables’, but its obsession with the most useless subset of renewables.
Brilliant exposition of the farce and failure of ‘renewables.’ A side issue: why were so many ‘policy makers’ so devoid of common sense for so long? The Howard government initiated the renewable targets in the late 1990s, as part of tactics to secure international agreement to a marginal increase in Australian emissions in the Kyoto convention on reducing ‘greenhouse’ gases. The renewable targets have been progressively increased by succeeding governments, with no one in authority prepared to declare the emperor’s nakedness. Has a corrosive decline in rational thinking occurred at the highest levels of government? Or is it simply a short term proposition to contain electoral inroads by the Greens? If the latter, then maybe the people in general should be blamed. But, leadership requires skilful presentation of facts that enable people to make reasonable choices. So, either way, the pollies and policy wonks have been derelict, at eye watering cost to the nation.
Hi Erl, not only is CO2 about the same in both hemispheres, about 90% population is in NH with 70% of landmass. And I don't think CO2 even crosses the equator due to correolis effect. Tornadoes and cyclones don't.
The costliest illusion in history. Well said.

What I hate is that wind and solar only provide energy when they feel like it, not when we need it.
These two graphs are too complicated for woke politicians to understand, they probably think they are showing their popularity rating?
