Very useful interview. Every experience contributes its own perspective on the problem, with this case emphasising the incompatibility of decentralized generation from diffuse and intermittent sources with the physics of an AC grid. Interesting observations too on the political causes of the crazy nuclear shutdown.

Biden authorised the destruction of Nord stream, essential for the German economy. The US was paying people to take surplus gas. He wanted to turn that around. The wonder of it was that the Germans did not complain. The quid pro quo was likely the US taking a stand in Ukraine.
